About Calclumo
Who builds and maintains Calclumo, why the site exists, and the standards every calculator on it has to meet.
Last updated
Calclumo is a collection of 40 calculators across 6 subjects — percentages, money, health, dates, unit conversion and geometry. All of them are free, none of them ask you to register, and every one of them does its arithmetic in your browser rather than on a server.
Who publishes this
Calclumo is an independent project, published under the name Calclumo Team and funded by nobody — there is no parent company, no investor and no client whose interests the numbers have to serve.
Every calculator is written, checked against its published source, and maintained by the same hands that built the site. When a figure here is wrong, there is one place to fix it and one place to complain to — the contact page reaches the people who wrote the page, not a support queue.
Direct line for corrections and questions: support@calclumo.com, or use the contact page.
Why it exists
Most calculator sites answer the question you asked and stop there. You want to know what a monthly payment would be, get a single number, and are left to work out on your own what happens if the rate moves, or what the total interest actually costs you over the term.
Calclumo is built the other way round. Each calculator shows the result, the working that produced it, and the context that makes the number mean something — the amortization schedule behind a payment, the healthy range a BMI sits inside, the formula written out so you can check it by hand. The aim is that you leave understanding the calculation, not just holding its output.
What every calculator has to do
- Use a published formula. No coefficient is invented here. Every equation, and the paper or standard it comes from, is listed on the methodology page.
- Show its working. If a result cannot be checked by hand from what is on the page, the page is not finished.
- Say where it stops. BMI cannot see muscle. Metabolic equations carry about ±10% error. A tax estimate is not a payroll run. Every limitation we know about is written down rather than left for you to discover.
- Keep your numbers on your device. Calculations run in JavaScript in your browser. Salaries, weights and loan balances are never transmitted to us — see the privacy policy.
- Work without an account. No sign-up, no paywall, no usage limit, no email capture.
How it is funded
Calclumo is free to use and carries no subscription. It is a personal project rather than a company, and it is not funded by selling or sharing what visitors enter — that would be incompatible with running the calculations in your browser in the first place.
Corrections
Errors get made. If a result looks wrong, send the calculator, your exact inputs, and what you expected to support@calclumo.com. Anything traced to a formula or a stale figure is fixed and the page is redated; anything that turns out to be a known limitation is written into the methodology page so the next reader sees it first.
